We stayed at the Des Plaines Best Western Om Jan 17th and left my car there until Jan 28th. We were told by the shuttle driver that upon return go to the baggage pick up area of O'Hara airport and use the underground walkway to the other side of the shuttle pick up area. We were told to call the hotel and if the shuttle driver was not out there we could call Community Cab and the desk clerk would pay them. A different company answered the phone and were told both companies work together. The cab company and the desk clerk could not agree on where to meet the cab. We made several calls Tuesday night at midnight and were exhausted after working a mission project in Haiti for 10 days and looking at a 3 hour drive home to Wisconsin. We kept getting different people when we called about where we would be picked up. We were told 5 yes 5 different areas for pick up. After an hour running around the pick up area in below zero temps we by chance saw a Community Cab and got a ride to the hotel. The driver said this happens frequently. He was a great driver and has excellent customer service skills. He said this happens frequently. Our group that goes to Haiti would use this Hotel frequently if the pick up issue is resolved. My suggestion would be to write it all out with the correct names of these companies and exact location for pick up. A very cheap solution that would bring your otherwise great operation a notch above everything else around the airport. Any questions can be directed to [email protected] and I will respond.
