Winter getaways

Some winter spots to enjoy. Last week I posted about getting the winter blues and traveling to the south. This week I am writing about some cities that can cure the winter blues with the four letter word SNOW.

The Berkshires Massachusetts, You can stay at bed and breakfasts to hotels, to campsites to cabins. You can stop off at orchards, wineries and farms. This winter you can ski at Berkshire East Ski area.

Cannon Beach Oregon, is a great place to go whale watching. You can see some colonies of seabirds at Haystack Rock. Enjoy the natural landscape of rock formations and lovely shorelines.

Lake Placid New York,  Come to the City where the Olympic games were hosted two times. Go ice skating to skiing to bobsledding to ice climbing. Visit the Adirondack Mountain quaint villages with local shops and restaurants.

Aspen Colorado, Four ski mountains surround this resort. You can try to ski, snowshoe, fly fish and hot air ballooning. View the breathtaking views that surround the town. PS you can tour a ghost town near Aspen.

Woodstock Vermont, This historic area is surrounded by the Green Mountains, and covered bridges, great restaurants, shops and boutiques, with beautiful landscapes. This city is great for winter sports such as skiing and rock climbing.

Spearfish Canyon, South Dakota. This is a great getaway in the Black Hills. The end of the canyon is a sawmill town. You can birdwatch and pack a picnic at Roughneck Falls. Hunting, rock climbing, skiing, snowmobiling and biking are some things to do this winter.

So here are some winter getaways. You can snuggle up at the fireplace drinking warm drinks and watch the snow fall.
