The hotel is in the process of doing a remodel. The last hurricane helped them out some. The restaurant and bar are closed. The pool is closed. The gym is closed. Half the parking lot is occupied with trucks and supplies for the remodel. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. It will probably be a great place to stay as soon as everything in complete. They are doing a great job in spite of all the problems.

This hotel is in transition from a Radisson property to an independent one. Employees from front desk, housekeeping, shuttle driver, to dining room are magnificent!

Hotel was very easy access from the interstate and offered a free shuttle to the cruise port as well as a very discounted shuttle back from port. Everything was very organized in how the shuttle systems worked, which was very surprising. The ladies at the front desk were always very pleasant and quick to say a Hello or Good Morning when they saw us. We did not try the pool area or restaurants, but they appeared top-notch! Some reviews say the hotel stinks. Actually, no, it doesn't. The nearby area does as if there is a paper plant nearby. The hotel can't do much about the smell in the area. Our room was in good repair except for the dresser where the drawers would not stay in. A suitcase in front of them was a quick fix. The bed was a little on the hard side for my tastes, but it's expected when at hotels. The hotel does show some age, but it's clear management has done the best they can with what they have. There are lots of restaurants within a very short drive, and we felt quite safe in the area even if there were constantly fire trucks and police vehicles breezing by on Rivers Ave. It's nice to know they are very responsive. We also felt comfortable leaving our vehicle at the hotel for the duration of the cruise. I would happily stay here again if visiting the Charleston area.

Stayed here to be shuttled to the ort for a cruise the following day. First off, they had only 3 luggage carts and when I checked in at 7pm, they were no where to be seen. The desk told me the guests probably took them to their rooms and kept them for the next morning. I know it wasn't the hotels fault but still makes me angry! Secondly, there were 50 people going to the cruise port, the hotel had 1 shuttle bus that seats 11. They did rent an extra 2 shuttles but they came late. After the cruise, waited 45 minutes at the dock waiting for the shuttle to pick us up. There were about 30 people and only ONE shuttle. Didn't get back to my car for 2 hours after disembarking. Hotel is OK to sleep but not very dependable for shuttle service.

Very good service, if your going on a cruise why not stay and leave you vehicle parked at the Hotel and they will take you to the ship and pick you up when you return... a great value.
